Radiology (CRIS)

This field represents the specialty as a division of medicine or dentistry covering a specific area of clinical activity and identified within one of the Royal Colleges or Faculties. This will be an alpha numeric code denoting which type of specialty provided care for this episode..

speciality_code

Indicates the type of scan e.g. US = Ultrasound.

modality

This field represents the radiology exam being conducted e.g. Fistulogram (FFIST ), venogram right arm (FULVR) etc.

exam_code

This field represents the description of Examination code.

exam_name

This field represents the location site code.

site_code

This field represents the date of the patients' first examination..

exam_start_date

This field represents the date of the patients' final examination..

exam_end_date

This field denotes the date when the event took place..

event_date

This field represents the examination status.

exam_status

This field represents the code whose values will be defined in the Status_Description field..

status_code

This field represents  the description of the code entered in the Status_Code field..

status_desc

Free-text field including patient medical history, reason for examination request, notes on attendance and description of findings.  This field does not always include a diagnosis, or an examination result.    Some of the reports contain the text: “#NL#”.  It has been added by HIC to remove replication in Radiology records.    Some of the radiology records from Fife arrived to HIC replicated. The replicated records are identical, however, the report is different.   To remove the replication without loosing information in the report field, the values have been concatenated with “#NL#” to signify the end of an individual report text.  .
